Veterans Day Video Submissions

If you are a veteran or active-duty serviceman/servicewoman from our area, we invite you to submit a brief video message for our 2020 Veterans Day video celebration. Please read the instructions below.

• You may use a smartphone camera to record your video.
• Hold your phone horizontally, in landscape mode, and hold it steady. It may be helpful to have a friend record you.
• Record yourself in good lighting or outside with no shadows on your face. Look directly into the camera lens.
• Please keep your message brief, no more than 20 seconds.
• Ideas for your video message:
  – Tell us your name, where you’re from, and about your service.
  – Veteran example: ” Hi, I’m John Deaux from Carencro and I served in the U.S. Marines in Vietnam. I’m proud to be a veteran.”
  – Active duty example: “Hi, I’m Private 1st Class John Deaux from Lafayette Parish. I am stationed with the U.S. Army in Germany and proud to follow the example of service set by veterans who came before me.”
  – Recite the Pledge of Allegiance.
• Press the “Wetransfer button” below to send us the video for free.
• Add your video file.
• Enter your name with “Veterans Day” in the Message field (example: John Deaux Veterans Day).
• Choose Send an Email.
• Enter veteransmemorial@carencro.org in the Email to field.
• Enter your email address and press Transfer.
• We reserve the right to edit your video message for length or appropriateness. We will attempt to use all submitted messages, but cannot guarantee such.
