The Carencro Police Department is a classified civil service department made up of an elected police chief, 27 full-time officers, and six reserve volunteer officers committed to keeping this community safe.

Carencro operates under the Fire and Police Civil Service system, which establishes standards for hiring, promotion, and conduct.

Fire Department

The Carencro Fire Department operates out of two stations. The main station is located at 5201 North University Avenue. Full-time members are part of the classified civil service system, governed by Fire and Police Civil Service rules on file at both stations.

A copy of the Civil Service Board Rules is on file at the Carencro Police Station, 110 Centennial Drive, and Carencro Fire Station #31, 5201 North University Avenue.

The City of Carencro operates a classified civil service system for full-time members of the Police and Fire Departments. This system, known as the Fire and Police Civil Service, establishes standards for hiring, promotion, discipline, and conduct.

A copy of the Carencro Fire & Police Civil Service Board Rules is on file at the Carencro Police Station, 110 Centennial Drive, 337-896-6321, and Carencro Fire Station #31, 5201 N. University Avenue, 337-896-6121. These rules can also be found on the website of the Office of State Examiner, Municipal Fire & Police Civil Service.
