The C’est Bon Seasoning Festival Returns to Carencro This October
There’s a recipe in almost every Carencro kitchen that was never actually written down, just watched, tasted, and repeated until it became muscle memory. That’s the spirit behind the C’est Bon Seasoning Festival, and this October, it returns to Pelican Park for its third year, October 30 through November 1.
“C’est Bon isn’t just a festival. It’s Carencro telling its own story, in its own words, through the food and music that have always been part of who we are,” said Mayor Charlotte Stemmans Clavier. “Every year, this event brings our neighbors, our history, and our culture into one place, and every year, it reminds us why this city is worth celebrating.”
What to Expect at This Year’s C’est Bon Seasoning Festival
This year’s festival will feature live musical performances, a carnival, local arts and crafts vendors, and the festival’s signature seasoning showdown, a tradition unique to a city that has long called itself the Seasoning Capital of the World. New this year is the Anything Goes Cook-Off, joining returning favorites including trick-or-treating and a haunted house experience for families. The haunted house runs Friday and Saturday night, while trick-or-treating takes place on Halloween night as part of the festival’s opening weekend.
Festival programming will also include hot air balloon rides, a Cajun Music Jam Session, a Chili Dog Eating Contest, and Spice It Your Way, a hands-on station where anyone can come create their own seasoning blend.

A Festival Rooted in South Louisiana Culture
The festival serves as an anchor event for Carencro’s new C’est Carencro Heritage storytelling initiative, a citywide effort to document and share the multigenerational traditions, food, and music that continue to define the community.
A seasoning blend, much like this town itself, is rarely made from a single influence. South Louisiana has never belonged to just one culture. It’s a place built by many hands, and you can taste every one of their stories. Generations of families from all across the region have simmered their own traditions into this place, in kitchens, at crawfish boils, in the way one neighbor’s recipe becomes another’s staple without anyone asking permission. C’est Bon Seasoning Festival exists to put all of that blending on full display, not just a slice of it. This festival exists to explore the many cultures that make up our great state, and celebrate every one of them.
“Culture isn’t something we perform once a year. It’s something we live daily,” Mayor Clavier added. “C’est Bon Seasoning Festival simply gives everyone else a chance to see what we already know.”
