Transportation

Local highway routes through Carencro include Interstate 10, Interstate 49, U.S. Highway 90 and U.S. Highway 167.

Lafayette Regional Airport is nine miles southeast of Carencro and is served by popular commercial airlines. Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport is about 50 miles to the east and New Orleans International Airport is approximately 120 miles to the east.

The Port of Iberia, a shallow draft port, lies 30 miles to the south. There are two deepwater ports nearby: the Port of Baton Rouge is 50 miles to the east and the Port of Lake Charles is 80 miles to the west. Both deepwater ports are designated as a foreign trade zone.
